iMovo Limited Supports Blue Door Education to Empower Refugees Through Language and Life Skills

This year, iMovo Limited is committed to making a positive impact in the community, by partnering with Blue Door Education for our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Campaign. Blue Door Education is a Maltese non-governmental organisation that provides free literacy, language and life skills training to refugees in crisis and asylum seekers in Malta. Through this collaboration, our aim is to support Blue Door Education in their quest to help displaced people and support them in overcoming language barriers and to build a better future in their new home.

Blue Door Education (VO/2165), based in Valletta, is a volunteer-run organisation that provides adult refugees, asylum seekers and migrants with the basic English language and practical skills they need to navigate daily life in Malta. Their programmes focus on promoting integration and social mobility. They help their students to become independent, improve their employability and integrate further within their community.

With iMovo’s support, Blue Door Education will have enhanced access to important online platforms such as TeachThis and Zoom and also continuous communication with their students through unlimited mobile internet access, which in turn will improve the quality and effectiveness of instruction and support services to better serve its students.

Blue Door is not just about education, they also focus on:

  • Enhancing literacy and language classes: strengthening and expanding weekly English classes ranging from basic to pre-intermediate (CEF B1) level, both in-person and online, ensuring better resources and support.
  • Empowering women through education: improving and expanding women-led, women-only courses to create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for migrant mothers. This also includes better child supervision support during classes so that more mothers can participate – because everyone deserves the chance to learn.
  • Promoting digital literacy: Improving IT courses to teach important digital skills so that students can navigate the modern world more efficiently and safely.
  • Developing high-quality educational content: Support the production and dissemination of video tutorials to improve literacy and language development to reach a wider audience outside the classroom and ensure better access to learning materials.
  • Strengthening career and integration support: improving assistance with CV writing, job applications and access to local services to make the transition into employment and wider society smoother and more effective for students.
“At iMovo, we believe that education is a powerful tool for change. By supporting Blue Door Education, we are investing in the future of people who have experienced unimaginable suffering and giving them the skills and opportunities they need to build new lives, Blue Door Education’s mission is closely aligned with our company’s commitment to inclusion, social impact and empowerment. By working together, we hope to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.”
